Im sorry but Cheryl really can't sing on her own. When she was in a group, you didn't really notice but her vocals just aren't up to scratch. Her song being number 1 for 2 weeks shows exactly how pathethic the british music industry has become - just terrible

Terrible just terrible. She is not the strongest singer. She is the weakest singer in Girls Aloud by some distance. Yet due to the tears this got to Number 1. Songs repetitive and badly written. Cheryl needs Girls Aloud so she can hide behind the strong singers of Nadine and Nicola. Cheryl on her own though. Awful. Just Awful

I think that cheryl cole is an amazing solo artist and because of her new song fight for this love i have become a big fan of hers. Loved the live performance on x factor and the dancing was outsatnding

From what i've read and heard it's one of those songs that divides opinion, some can't stand it but more people think it's brilliant and love it. I'm in the latter category. At last someone who can both sing and dance well. It's different to most stuff in the charts, like that regular dross by Westlife for instance.

Well done Cheryl for having the top single and album, in the same week, + best selling single of the year so far, (which is no mean feat!) You have shown up all those critics in the press and media who haven't been very kind to you in the past. Girl power! Also thanks for keeping 'waste(of time) life' from getting an instant number one single. I like your song and the video, but i never buy cd singles usually, only albums. However i've just made an exception & bought it to hopefully stop 'waste (of space) life' from having a number one next week. Can everyone who likes genuine music please do the same! Or just do it for England!

Poor effort - could've done so much better on first time around. Or could she? I don't think she's got much of a sense of music itself - she can't sing triplets well. On top of that it's a weak song with naff rhymes. Try again

I don't get why everyone says she can't sing!! She won a tv program for goodness sake so to me she has proved herself through that. Would she have survived the show with a bad voice?? I don't think so.

and no, i don't know her, or am related to her, or in love, e.t.c.! It is just a nice little, unusual pop tune, that's all. It's wasn't meant to be ground-breaking. Her song writing team and producers have done a really good job with what started as a small hook line so full credit to them for making it a big hit. To all those armchair critics, i say she's got guts to do an unknown song like this, please leave the girl alone.

i offered this song to cheryl's team and i think they have done a very good job with it. They have stayed true to my original so who cares if some people don't like it or think it sounds similar to other things. i can say for sure it is quite different and original + cheryl deserves credit for trying something unusual and unknown for her first single. whatever she does, some people will always snipe and have a go! i am pleased for her after she has taken a chance with this song . leave her alone!

A very average song, with some electronic tweaking to the vocals and it certainly would not be a number one if not for the exposure of her on the X Factor. As number ones go this will not be remembered as one of the greats, she could have demanded a better song than this. Why doesn't she try and write her own songs, she's been in the business a while now. As for anyone not liking the song being branded as jealous, if I go for a meal and the food tastes terrible and I complain to the chef, do people say he's only complaining because he's jealous of the chef, or if I don't like a book am I jealous of the author?
