Once again, it's all down to the likes of N-Dubz, Tinchy Stryder and others that have ruined such a good song. Ugh, why not get some originality instead of doing stupid covers for charity?

thats a very harsh review, i agree the backing and producing isn't great but the guys are defiantly not putting on just some dodgy cover of a band aid cover that has been done thousands of times. the raps and extra vocals etc make it a bit more up to date and its a good listen. one that i would buy not just because its for charity :)

This song represents the state of British music , are these really the best 'artists' Warchild could find? Thank god that American acts like The Killers are still making great Pop music

Catchy. I like it.

I didn't really like the original and I did find it a bit dull, especially compared to some of the other great Killers tracks. No, this isn't brilliant. But there's nothing wrong with a bit of modern Urban-Pop, is there?! Suppose you could call it a guilty pleasure of mine but I think this is catchy and cool! Plus it's for charity, which you can never knock.

Absolutely awful, I cannot believe they've murdered a great Killer's track - it hurts my ears!

'The original wasn't great and was a bit dull'. I don't know whether to laugh or cry. This new version is Ok for a charity song, but clearly not a patch on the original which has now become a classic.

Now some of the below comments is what you would describe as musical snobbery. If you don't like N-Dubz or rap music or you are a die-hard Killers fan, you were never gonna like this. The original wasn't great and was a bit dull and the cover livens it up a bit. The rap slots in well, in my opinion. And the artists altogether do sound very soulful, coincidently. The 'I Got Soul' line is a bit repetitive, but other than that, it's all good. It's for a good song and good on them. With all the ego-driven, careless musicians out there, I commend these guys for doing something for charity.

I'm sorry, but "3 stars because it's for a good cause"? It's an absolutely dire piece of music, which is how it should be reviewed. If people really want to help charity, donate straight to war child.
One&Only X on October 16th, 2009
What a travesty of a song. They got no soul but they're all chavs and wannabes. But it does well for charity.

Awful. They've tried reworking a classic - and it just hasn't worked. To add rap into a Killers song is just disgraceful. I know it's for a good cause, and well done to the singers for taking part, but whoever has produced the track has made a fool of themselves. I shall be donating my money to Children In Need. Brandon Flowers must be so disappointed that they have ruined his song, even if it is for a good cause.

Seriously one of the worst songs ever. Don't like anyone in it but VV. Feel sorry for The Killers too, not their fault their song was chosen to be trashed.
Ellie on October 16th, 2009
I LOVE VV BROWN!

yep, i'm with you there. there's little denying that it's an awful attempt at a cover, with the lazy one-line repetitive chorus, cheap production, and some average rapping. but i can't begrudge that they're doing it for a good cause - 3 stars for that from me. my advice to people would be to buy the original, good version, by The Killers, and donate a couple of quid to War Child :)

Ever since I first heard this song, I've been seeing hoards of Killers fans whining and complaining. Well, I think it's actually quite good! It is a bit of a Band Aid imitation. I actually think it would be a good idea if they had released this at Christmas and tripled the airplay. But I like it, it's catchy and it's for a good cause, which you can't really knock. I don't think this will be a #1 though. Especially not on the same week as Cheryl Cole. I predict Top 10!
