Pink: 'I Don't Believe You'

Everyone knows that Pink can do cheeky pop-punk better than most ('So What', 'Funhouse'). But, on the fifth single from her Funhouse album, she proves there's another side to her music. In fact, 'I Don't Believe You' finds Pink channelling her inner Mariah and delivering one of her strongest, most emotional vocal performances to date.

When the album came out, Rolling Stone derided this track for being a "gloopy ballad", but it's actually the song's unashamed soppiness and layers of schmaltz that make it so appealing. It's the perfect creamy, indulgent dessert after the spicy, flavoursome main course of Pink's usual fare. There's no fist-pumping chorus or naughty lyrics for her to hide behind here. It's just Pink and her voice and it's really rather sweet.
