Peter Andre: 'Unconditional'

Hats off to Peter Andre for converting his gossip rag-shifting, ITV2 schedules-filling celebrity into not unimpressive record sales - his Revelation album debuted at number three in September and has since gone gold. Trouble is, it's still difficult to think of him as a "proper popstar", whatever that term might mean.

Of course, that's partly because he's more famous for other things - at the moment, getting divorced - but partly because his music is pretty ropey. A case in point is 'Unconditional', a dated, melodically-challenged ballad dedicated to stepson Harvey. There's no doubt that Andre means what he's singing, but did he have to write lyrics as literal as "Wish I could have helped you with your first step, but I'm here now"? The result is not unlike having someone else's home movie forced upon you - which, not coincidentally, is precisely what Andre does in the video.

I disagree with you Nick and all these rude comments...He sung this with his heart and he means it....you can't say he's stupid and you can't compare this to a spanish rapper this is serious....I have a lot of respect for Peter, Katie treated him really badly and I'm glad he left her she was horrible and meanPeter is a good guy and as usual does what he does best

i LOVE it, its awesome and he sings this from the bottom of his heart, you can see whenever he sings this song that its very close to his heart. iv got a lot of respect for peter and think hes an amazing artist. he writes all his own songs which is more than can be said for the majority of artist out there these days. fair enough it mite not be every bodies cup of tea but theres no need to say things like he cant sing, it obvious he can and im sure you couldnt sing any better yourself so lay off him. hes a great artist and an inspirational man and he can also sing very well live and doesnt have to mime when doing a live perfomance which is also something that a lot of artists cant do! well done peter and keep up the good work, the album is great!!!!!!

i don't care how well he means, putting the lyric 'becoming a father before i became a dad' into a song is utterly stupid. heck, i've only heard this song a few times, but i cringe so badly whenever i hear that line. most cringeworthy line of the year for sure, even against any of Pitbull's songs. apart from that, it ain't a great song anyway. it's bland, lacking in any real feeling or emotion, and way too gimmicky.

I think unconditional is a very nice calm song and i think that peter does not deserve to have bad comments about this songs. Well done Peter.

Sorry but this song is not good at all. I think that Peter's career is only going because of the news with Katie. It is extremely cheesey and the lyrics are not good. I feel as though his songs are charting high because he's bein played a victim in all of the mess he is in. I do feel that Katie is gettin it worse than she deserves. I'm suprised there hasnt been anymore songs about her....
