Ellie Goulding: 'Under The Sheets'
It's dark when you leave work, The X Factor's reaching the point of national obsession and M&S have got their mince pies in, which can mean only one thing for pop pickers - it's Tips For 2010 time. Top of the pile at present? Ellie Goulding, a Hereford-born, Wales-raised singer-songwriter who recently signed to Polydor.

'Under The Sheets', her deftly-timed buzz single, shows why she's attracting the right sort of attention. It's that bit more magical than the average electropop tune, managing to sound twinkly and chunky at the same time, and the chorus is pretty much irresistible. Then there's her voice - pure, girlish and as fluttery as a butterfly trapped in a cupboard - which contrasts intriguingly with the anguished lyrics. You'll be hearing a lot about Ellie Goulding in the coming months - why not get ahead and enjoy this wondrous single now?

I'm impressed with this song, it's actually the first song that I heard from her. I love her voice, it's magical and I really liked Starry Eyed too. Oh yes, and I've been watching the Under the Sheets music video over and over again on Youtube.

I LOVE this song. I really hope that the other relases and album live up to the standards that she's set in this single. A deserved winner of the BBC Sound Of 2010!

The music is catchy and her voice is really good, but looking into this song it's even better than it first seemed. The lyrics are deep and work really well in contrast to the music they are paired with, I can't help but love the 'all the boys before' hook and the 'killing me' at the end. If she keeps pulling songs like this then she'll be on her way.

Lots and lots and lots and lots of promise. She obviously knows what works with this song. Although I'd like to hear a song where her vocals have more of a chance to shine through. But their are glimpses of brilliance vocally in this song. It just depends how she decides to take this. I hope she follows the Florence, Little Boots and La Roux principle!

I've been waiting for Ellie to go mainstream and this song really doesn't disappoint! Dreamy electropop at its best!

I love this song... I used to go to uni with Ellie and she really is so talented... I'm hoping there will be some accoustic stuff on the album!

First heared her on Jools Holland, truly magical voice. Great song, but the video could've been better produced.
