I think this is a wonderful choice of song as it is relevant to the cause they are supporting. The vocals are all great (hate to admit it but even John & Edwards line was ok). Think its great that Joe opened and closed, but there is far to much of Danyl. Their vocals may well have been edited on the CD, but if you watched the live performance on Sunday it was amazing. My thoughts for final three would be Joe, Stacey & Olly.

This song is rubish! Last years was amazing, but this one is awful. :@

This is really quite lovely. I hate when people look too far into things and then twist it out of proportion. It's a song for a worthy charity sung nicely by Reality TV contestant with lovely lyrics. Yes, Cowell and co will be getting a profit out of it, but don't all record companies get the profits out of charity singles? It doesn't make Cowell and the production team 'evil'. It doesn't make the contestants bad people. Believe it or not, they are doing something nice for charity so I wish people would just accept that for what it is. Many opinions are extremely predujiced because it's The X Factor. Anyway, it's much better than 'Hero'. Joe, Miss Frank, Rikki and Danyl are standouts for me. I find it quite heartwarming, really. My only real quarrel is that there's a strong whiff of cheese coming off this, so I give it 4 stars instead of five.

i don't care what the singers are like. yes it's for charity, which is obviously a great thing, but does anyone honestly think Cowell and the gang aren't earning out of it too? give me a break. they're very clever here - they can kill any classic song they like, they get a guaranteed no.1 out of it, which they will all go hysterical over on sunday, but you can't say anything negative about it or you're a 'bad person' etc... if these x factor charity songs really are all about raising money for charity, then surely there's no reason for them to be entering the charts? oh, hang on... that's the main reason they do it. put it this way - if these songs weren't allowed to enter the charts, do you think they would still do them? not a chance. they're just loving all the attention and good press, and the no.1 single which they will kid themselves that they 'earned'. i'll donate directly to GOSH instead, thanks.

Look, if say Mariah Carey did a cover of this song for example, all of you would be saying 'Omg this is amazing!' etc. But because it's the X Factor finalists, you've already prejudged it. I think it's actually very good, Joe, Stacey & Miss Frank definitely stand out. Yes, they do it for some publicity (the X Factor don't even need it) but it's going towards charity. So just go with the flow!

Michael Jackson's version remains the best, this is indeed a big no-no. Get your own music!
Becca ward on November 18th, 2009

Brad on November 18th, 2009
Miles better than the murder of Hero. Joe sounds great. People need to get over them being on the X Factor - maybe then they'd hear a good song because there really is nothing wrong with it. If you want a crap cover song listen to Westlife's slaughtering of What About Now.
Ami, Manchester on November 17th, 2009
Very fed up with cover songs being released as charity singles. It's a cheap, easy way to get it out. The only ones that stood out for me were Stacey, Joe and Miss Frank. But asides from that, it's WORSE than Hero.
Dane, Birmingham on November 17th, 2009
iosnt this singe £3.99 ? hmm cause only £1 is going to charity greedy or what its apparently a charity single hardly simon cowle makes more money than the charity!
Ste, Manchester on November 16th, 2009
This song, or release, is abusing charity for Simon Cowell's personal gain (his ego and it gets more publicity for the Xfactor). There's no denying it's for a good cause, but there is clear reason to why this song exists. Save your money and donate your 10p to the charity directly. Afterall, that's all they'll really get.
Lisa, Ireland on November 16th, 2009
Average vocals on an average song. Good job it is for a hugely worthwhile charity, they'll benefit even if our ears don't. Best vocals for me are Miss Frank, Lucie and erm guy with the funny eyebrow - all of whom have been given the chop!!

Have any of you people actually listened to the words of this song? This is a great choice for this particular charity. Having your child spend any length of time in hospital is one of the most heartbreaking things a parent endures. I know, I have personal experience. Knowing that we, the parents, and our children are not alone is what gives us hope. Researchers exhuast themselves, staff outdo themselves and it's in this we find hope. I sincerely hope this single sells millions of copies. And musically I think it's a fabulous rendition, showcasing some beautiful ranges from the final 12. As for the commenter who asked why Simon doesn't just donate 1million from his personal worth, how do you know he hasn't? He's very private about such things but there is nothing to suggest he hasn't already donated generously, without seeking attention for his efforts.

I suppose recording a brand-new, well-written, uplifting song was out of the question then..

Good cause..............sickly version of this song.
MrW on November 16th, 2009
Yep, it's awful!!! and gosh, all the money simon makes surely they can GET A NEW SONG. BUT as it's for a good casue I bought it loll
ALEX Banks on November 16th, 2009
It's dire, I wish they'd picked a more uplifting song, or better yet, they hadn't done it at all and instead the judges had donated half of their appearance fees for the x factor series. I'd happily give Gt Ormond St a tenner to not hear it. This'll now spread all over the airwaves faster than a herpes outbreak, which is unfortunate. Once a time ago, the charts had decent songs, now it's song cover after song cover after song cover after song cover after...

I think this is MUCH better than Hero last year.
AJ on November 16th, 2009
Prefered last years but i'm really happy this is all worthy, the money goin to a good cause. Love Stacey and Miss Frank wish they had more parts
adam belfast on November 16th, 2009
they have destroyed another song.
Tim, Camberley on November 16th, 2009
It's well produced, slick and has a similar sort of feel to it as the Hero single last year. It is pleasent, and showcases the voices of some of the better singers (most notably Lucie), at the same time hiding those that struggle to hold a tune (ehem). Overall, easy to listen to, and given the cause as well, can't fail to be a big hit.
Thom, Pompey on November 15th, 2009
Cringeworthy to the max, and an incredible insult of a release. It is good that the show tonight promoted Great Ormond Street Hospital, however why can't Simon Cowell just donate a million pounds to them or something instead of having this released upon us? This deserves the number 1 spot less than my back side does. Also a very disgusting use of Michael Jackson's death and retriggered popularity this year.
