50 Cent ft. Ne-Yo: 'Baby By Me'

"Yeah I'm a freak, I get into all that. Girl I perform for ya like a porno star!" No, we haven't just come off the blower to an adult chatline - these really are lyrics from 50 Cent's comeback single. And if those lines from Fiddy didn't leave you cringing, there's plenty of talk of "quickies" and "erotic sounds" to send your embarrassment muscles into spasm. In fact, after listening to this, the rapper's recent Danny Dyer/Robert De Niro comparison no longer seems like the most ridiculous thing to have come out of his mouth.

As for the track itself, it does little to alleviate Curtis Jackson's creative slide since his 2003 debut Get Rich Or Die Tryin' - hell, it even relies on a sample from his two-year-old hit 'I Get Money' to stay afloat. An appearance from Ne-Yo does little to lift proceedings either, with the normally classy star crooning on Autopilot over bog-standard synthy production and pedestrian beats. The result is tedious, outdated and, quite frankly, about as sexually appealing as a night in the jungle with Kim Woodburn.
