Chuckie & LMFAO: 'Let The Bass Kick In Miami Girl'

"Hey, you're looking kind of cute in that polka dot bikini girrrrrl," leers LMFAO rapper Redfoo a minute or so into this track. If you're a red-blooded sort who still appreciates the novelty of shaving, this line could prove titillating. However, if you're a pop fan who can remember Smash Hits, cassingles and the like, you might find your mind drifting to Timmy Mallett and swimwear of the itsy bitsy teenie weenie variety.

Anyway, back to the track itself, which sees Dutch DJ Chuckie mix together his own 'Let The Bass Kick In' with 'I'm In Miami Girl' by US DJ/rap duo LMFAO. The result is a passable, 'Put Your Hands Up 4 Detroit'-style electro-house soufflé with lashings of crass ("Put that ass up!") as garnish. Those who can refrain from picturing Mallett's, erm, mallet may enjoy bopping to this over New Year's party season, before promptly forgetting all about it soon afterwards. Us?
