Jason Derulo: 'In My Head'

Here on British shores, the gents have been getting battered by a tidal wave of electropop ladies, but it's been a different story Stateside. The likes of Iyaz, Owl City and our very own Jay Sean have all held residence at the top of the US charts, while 22-year-old newcomer Jason Derulo recently made a four-month climb to the summit with 'Whatcha Say', shifting two million units along the way.

That track's success was somewhat buoyed by its zappy Imogen Heap sample, but this follow-up shows Derulo is well capable of holding his own. An uptempo R&B number built around jagged guitar riffs on the verses and a bouncy, Taio Cruz-style Europop hook, 'In My Head' finds Derulo opening up about exactly what's on his mind: "In my head, I see you all over me, in my head, you fulfill my fantasy." Exciting, slightly naughty and hot enough to see out the Big Freeze, the young contender's made it two crackers in a row here.
