Listening to 'Need You Now', their first UK single, it's easy to see why. Anchored by an ear-snagging piano riff, it's a glossy slice of countrified soft rock with a gorgeously wistful chorus that grabs you on first listen. Its tale of romantic longing, presented as a male/female duet between co-leads Hillary Scott and Charles Kelley, is oh-so-relatable too – how can you not fall for a song whose key line goes: "It's a quarter after one, I'm a little drunk, and I need you now"? If Rachel and Finn don't get to croon this at each other soon, Glee's musical director will deserve a slap.
