Keane ft. K'naan: 'Stop For A Minute'

Remember when your best mate's mum got some highlights put in, dropped a couple of stone and invested in a set of trendy new togs? Well, that's kind of what Keane did on their last album, morphing from a pleasant but slightly dull piano rock trio to an altogether sexier synth-pop act.

Thankfully, they're not allowing themselves to slip back into bad habits. 'Stop For A Minute', the trailer from their upcoming Night Train EP, is a stylish electropop tune whose perky exterior hides some surprising desperate lyrics ("Without you I'm a liner stranded in an ice floe"). It's even got a rap - courtesy of Coke-endorsed rapper K'Naan - that features a neat use of the word "cuticles". Oh, and you know how your best mate's mum can still rustle up a killer plate of spag bol? Well, in much the same way, Keane still have a nack for a socking great chorus.
