Ellie Goulding: 'Guns And Horses'

As anyone who's heard her Lights LP will know, Elena Jane Goulding has had to deal with her fair share of frustrating fellas. Now she has a top five breakthrough hit, a No.1 album and a Brit Award to her name, we're going to take a stab in the dark and assume that plenty more awkward customers will be coming her way in the future. Oh Ellie, we feel for you.

'Guns And Horses' finds her facing up to the fact that her paramour doesn't feel quite as strongly for her as she does for him. "I wish I could be it all for you," she sings as the chorus bursts into a glittering microcosm of guitars, xylophones and synths. The result? Another example of the glorious folktronic pop sound she and producer Starmith established on 'Under The Sheets' and 'Starry Eyed' - and reassuring proof that her romantic suffering wasn't for nothing.
