Shout For England ft. Dizzee Rascal & James Corden: 'Shout'

We'd love to have been in the room when the idea for this single was dreamt up. Roly-poly, never-off-your-telly-box funnyman James Corden and chart-busting grime star Dizzee Rascal have come together for a terrace-chant-meets-hip-hop England World Cup song. Oh, and it samples Tears For Fears and Blackstreet. The brainchild of Simon Cowell, it shows more imagination and colour than all six X Factor 'Winner's Songs' put together.

Sadly, however, that's where the praise ends. Yes, it may be for charidee. And, yes, it may succeed in namechecking half the England squad in delightfully awkward fashion ("We need Rooney in tip top condition / Aaron Lennon down the wing like he's on a mission"). But the knuckle-dragging cries of "Come and have a go if yer think yer 'ard enuf" and "oh-way-oh-way-oh" chants set back the reputation of England fans about 25 years and make Ant & Dec's 'We're On The Ball' sound Ivor Novello-worthy. It's even harder to stomach than another penalty shoot-out disaster.
