Ciara ft. Ludacris: 'Ride'

Ciara's certainly one of the more sociable girls in the R&B gang. A quick glance at her back catalogue reveals that she's worked with just about every vaguely urban popstar whose mobile number she can crib, from Missy on 'Work' to Enrique on 'Takin' Back Your Love' to JT on 'Love Sex Magic'. In fact, she's collaborated with so many artists in her time that she's now having to recycle them, teaming up with Ludacris for the fifth time on this trailer for her new LP, Basic Instinct.

Roping in a better-known buddy does usually get her noticed, but the truth is that Ciara fails to make much impact here. Over a sleek but essentially unremarkable production from The Dream, she purrs near-orgasmically, boasts about her abilities in the boudoir and lets us know precisely how much she enjoys riding the, ahem, beat. However, while her pelvis-thrusting in the video will certainly spur on Beyoncé at Pilates class, Ciara's actual vocals lack the personality of her rivals. To be honest, we'd suggest 'Ridin' Solo' in the future if she really wants to prove herself... but we don't want to be giving her any more ideas.
