Dane Bowers: 'All She Needs'

Appearing on Celebrity Big Brother couldn't really go wrong for Dane Bowers. The career of the Another Level alumnus had sunk as low as it could possibly go, with 9 out of 10 members of the public unable to tell him apart from fellow boyband has-been Anthony Costa. Despite feigning reluctance at rejuvenating his singing career on the C4 show, six months on he's using the relative increase in exposure to springboard a second stab at the pop game.

Bowers's timidity and honesty about his failings endeared him to the public on CBB, but sadly it's going to take more than a bit of sympathy to get this track tearing up the charts. A lightly soulful toe-tapper in the style of Maroon 5, 'All She Needs' packs more cheese than a Waitrose deli counter. Bowers's vocals (thankfully without an 'Out Of Your Mind' vocoder effect) are still in decent shape, but his corny romantic shtick belongs in a time capsule marked 'Year 2000'. Released on the same day as Katie Price's latest musical outing, a chart battle between the former lovers is his only hope that this track may leave a mark.
