Diana Vickers 'The Boy Who Murdered Love'
This is only Diana Vickers' second single, but already she seems to be developing a worrying obsession with death. After letting her previous squeeze kill her just the "once", she's gone and picked a new beau who's "murdered" all the love out of her. Still, for a woman who's been on the receiving end of so much trauma, she's holding up remarkably well, don't you think?

"You're the boy who murdered love / Cold hands and a heart of stone," Vickers trills in her usual yelpy fashion over a catchy synth'n'guitar backing. The co-writing credit she bags here certainly bodes well for future, especially if she came up with the song's witty standout line: "You're a Midas in reverse." It all adds up to a smart, sophisticated pop tune carried off with enough conviction to discourage any future bad boys hoping to give her the runaround. Maybe the Bambi-like Vickers is finally learning to stand on her own two feet?
