Jedward: 'All The Small Things'

Everyone else treats Jedward like the head's Lexus on the last day of school - an excuse for one hell of a trashing - so, in the interests of variety and bloody-mindedness, we're going to point out the pair's positives instead. Well, there's something pleasing about someone called John Grimes actually being able to score a hit single. The lads make a real effort with their hair. And they give Louis Walsh an extra incentive to chat to the press - always a good thing, especially now X Factor's approaching.

It's a little trickier extending the goodwill to the twosome's musical output, but here at DS we like a challenge, so here goes. Hmm, to be fair their cover of this monster pop-punk romp is no embarrassment - at least until their "J to the E to the D…" ad lib - though it's hardly a radical reinvention either, coming off like the sort of thing Busted might have popped on a B-side. Credit where it's due though - at least they resisted the urge to pay full homage to Blink-182 and get naked in the video.
