Scouting For Girls: 'Famous'

So much has been said, written and sung about today's obsession with 'slebrity that if you're going to drop in your own two pennies worth, you really need to have something brilliantly witty and gasp-inducingly insightful to add. Sadly, wit and insight have never been Scouting For Girls' strongest suits.

What we get instead is references to James Dean and Bette Davis - ooh, someone's been listening to 'Vogue'! - a typically repetitive chorus of "We all want... We all want to be famous" and couplets like "I can't act, I can't dance, I can't sing, can't you see / But I'm young and I'm pretty and that's all you need". The result is every bit as crass and charmless as the 15 minutes types they're attempting to skewer - and at least Katie Price has a sense of humour. Well, how else to explain that GMTV performance?
