By Nick Levine | "I wanna be a billionaire so f**king bad," croons Bruno Mars on the one-listen hook that kicks off 'Billionaire', but before you think, 'Oh s**t, not
another witless hip-hop paean to materialism', just listen to the rhymes from the man whose debut solo single this
actually is.
For Gym Class Heroes frontman / survivor of The Katy Perry Experience Travi
se McCoy wants to be filthy rich not just so can play basketball with the President, but also so he can do a whole loada good deeds. "I'd probably pull an Angelina and Brad Pitt / And adopt a bunch of babies that ain't never had s**t," he raps over a brassy reggae-pop groove that recalls No Doubt's 2002 hit 'Underneath It All'. The result? A summer pop treat so sweet and tasty it's even possible to forgive McCoy's slightly irritating change of billing - just as long as he doesn't start styling himself "Trav-E Trav" any time soon.
