The Saturdays - Missing You
Any pop group worth its Mahiki tequila salt knows it needs to stay in the charts to stay in your hearts. Thus, following disappointing sales figures for sophomore set Wordshaker, The Saturdays are doing a nice bit of damage limitation/stopgapping with their upcoming Headlines! mini-album, a grab-bag containing their last two hits, four new songs, a Kristinia DeBarge cover and a Starsmith remix of the best track from Wordshaker.

Naturally, they're also releasing one of those new songs as a single. 'Missing You' is a midtempo electropop ballad about a relationship that's turned from love to hate to shoulder-shrugging indifference - call it a post-break-up song. The production's modishly rave-tinged, the lyrics are surprisingly dark ("I get high when you're making me weak / Let me down 'til I crawl on my knees"), and after a few spins the chorus wiggles into your brain like a tapeworm that missed the turning marked "digestive tract". The charts? Sorted. Your hearts? Well, that's a matter of personal preference of course, but, the odd rocky patch excepted, they've had ours since 'Up'.

I think their best track so far is up BUT I changed my mind when I heard higher.... its so good, that should have been the first single realesed of their album but missing you is a very catchy song

Still waiting to hear anything remotely as good as 'Up'...No? Oh :(

A great classy tune and I like the summer anthem feel to it which is also reflected in the video, it's pointless comparing them to Girls Aloud as they are who they are with a differnt style of music. As good as they were, we don't need another Girls Aloud at the moment. Not every song has been quality but The Saturday's have something and let's hope they can continue with bigger songs and a number 1 somewhere down the line.

The problem The Saturdays have is, no once cares. Even if they do a really good song, no one cares. Who would notice if all 5 members were replaced by 5 hairdressers from Essex? Girls Aloud rewrote the girl band rule book and the Sats obviously didn't pick up a copy.

Rubbish comeback. Should've bothered.

Underwhelmed at first, but this is a grower and really catchy. I feel sorry for the band when people mention 'flop' because they've had 2 top ten albums and Chasing Lights was, as a whole, a really good quality record for a debut. Plus, Ego - although it got to number 9 - is actually their second best selling single after Up so they are still heading in the right direction. With any luck this will be another top five hit as I do consider them quite a guilty pleasure so would like to have them around for a bit longer!

this song has been stuck in my head for weeks, they know of to make a song. im very excited for this new EP/Mini album. I just wish they would give Una and Mollie more parts in their songs, other then that its amazing.

it is dull, easily forgettable and too much auto tune used.

Not their best work, the auto-tune is extremely annoying, but the chorus sticks with you for days. Overall, 4/5

Truthfully im not a huge fan of girl groups, the ones here in the States are horrible, all about sex. I stumbled across this group by accident and i was not disappointed. The only critique i can give about this song is whoever decided to use auto-tune on Frankie's vocals is an idiot, its rather annoying and not needed.

I do like the saturdays, but i do feel that their releases haven't had the success that some deserved. 'Ego' was massively catchy and no:9 wasn't high enough in my opinion. This is equally as catchy and i hope that it does well, top 5 is easily achieveable.

Bland, clichéd and utterly forgettable

Such a beautiful song. This will be a huge hit i reckon. Even outside The Sats fanbase, theres a lot of love for this song. And i don't think theres any danger yet of them being dropped. They've got their mini series coming up and also they have a full studio album lined up for release in autumn 2011, with collaborations with Taio Cruz.

adele, 60,000 sales is a massive flop, when your record company have spent over £1,000,000 on promotion and marketing. it is widely expected that 'the saturdays' will be dropped very soon. this mini album is only being released to fulfill the contract.

Wordshaker was NOT a flop! I'm sick of people saying that. It reached number 9 in the charts, the same as chasing lights, and has sold more than 60,000 copies. Chasing lights did sell more copies but that doesn't make Wordshaker a flop.
