Freemasons featuring Wynter Gordon - 'Believer' cover
It's no secret that the Freemasons are a fussy pair when it comes to choosing a featured vocalist for their floor-fillers. From veteran belter Katherine Ellis on 2008's 'When You Touch Me' to Sophie Ellis-Bextor on last year's smash 'Heartbreak', their choices are so spot-on that their selection process could be almost be deemed scientific. This time they've plumped for Wynter Gordon - a dance diva on the rise whose CV already boasts collaborations with Flo Rida and David Guetta. Question is, does the US newbie make a good fit for our beloved British dance institution?

Well, having listened to their new single seven times on the trot, we're happy to confirm that the answer is a resounding 'YES!' Over thumping beats reminiscent of earlier hit 'Uninvited', the Brighton knob-twiddlers have fashioned a captivating variation on their patented handbag house sound. With less in the way of horns, more in the way of ambience and just the right lavishing of strings, 'Believer' succeeds in sounding both fresh and thoroughly Freemasons. Oh, and as for that featured vocalist, well her CV's starting to look mighty promising, don't you think?
