The Script: 'For The First Time'

If The Script were to write an actual script, what sort of script would it be? Well, the unit-shifting Dubliners certainly wouldn't waste any time setting the scene. "She's all laid up in bed with a broken heart," goes the opening salvo of this album two trailer, "While I'm drinking Jack all alone in my local bar." We're there straight away, right?

What follows is a tale of rekindled romance for the credit crunch era - "Man these times are hard!" sighs frontman Danny O'Donoghue - that's as relatable, well-constructed and ultimately every bit as sentimental as anything to flow from the pen of Richard Curtis. (Not so much The Boat That Rocked, of course.) If 'For The First Time' were an actual script, it would do boffo business at the box office.
