Pixie Lott: 'Broken Arrow'

In the words of Gabriella Cilmi, Pixie Lott is a woman on a mission... WOAH! Since dishing up her debut album last year, she's squeezed out five singles, a fashion line, a role in an American movie and a guest spot on the nation's No.1 talent show. Now, with her (doe) eyes set squarely on the States, she's expanded said album into a 22-track spectacular to keep us all busy while she plots world domination. Anyone else feeling woefully lazy?

Fronting the re-release is 'Broken Arrow', an autumnal midtempo number on which Pix sings about struggling to get over an ex. "He's the thorn in my flesh / That I can't take out / He's stealing my breath / When you're around," she yearns in a voice creamier than a mug of Whittard's white hot chocolate. Sadly, such lyrics make for a predictably slushy affair, and the chorus doesn't quite have the instant impact of her best tunes. Still, at least she's got that Derulo duet lined up to keep us all on board for the Pixie Revolution.
