Mike Posner: 'Cooler Than Me'

His name may sound like a slur you'd hear slung across the high school canteen - "Maaan, you're, like, such a Pose-nuh!" - but snigger at your peril, because this clever Mick has already scored a top ten hit in Oz, Canada and his native US with 'Cooler Than Me', a song he recorded in his college dorm.

Inspired by a toffee-nosed college hottie - the sort of girl who struts noisily but nonchalanty across campus "trying to look bored in them Dior's" - it's a catchy-as-coldsores electropop stomper that Adam Lambert would snap his Mac mascara for. Best of all, when radio's spun the tune to death - which, in all likelihood, it will - we can still have fun imagining precisely what Miss 'Cooler Than Me' was like. And, of course, recalling the equivalent from our own high school/college/uni days. The cow.
