Shakira ft. Dizzee Rascal: 'Loca'

When Shakira gyrated our way with 'Whenever, Wherever' a little over nine years ago, we assumed that some of her, ahem, quirkier couplets were a simple case of poor translation from the Colombian songbird. But now, three English-language albums later on, it's abundantly that clear she really didn't want us to confuse her breasts with mountains. Nonetheless, it's precisely this kookiness that draws us back time and time again.

For those still unaware of her idiosyncracies, the message is sounded loud and clear on her latest ditty. 'Loca' - which translates as 'Crazy' - is a bizarre yet thoroughly enjoyable mish-mash of horns, bongos and techno percussion tossed in a soapy kitchen sink while a lovely bit of Latino merengue plays on the radio alongside. "I'm crazy but you like it," she informs us here, not inaccurately. That reminds us - a summer tune in December? To quote guest star Dizzee Rascal: "That girl is a nutter!"
