Pixie Lott: 'Can't Make This Over'

Oh Pixingtons, this isn't terribly festive of you, releasing a break-up ditty of the Yes, This Really Is It ilk at a time when everything in the world should be as warm and fuzzy as the rump of a lovely plump duck who's been snuggling up on the sofa with the Downton Abbey box set for the past couple of hours. "You want another chance to try again," Nando's most famous fan sings here, "But I can't make this over…"

To be fair, the track itself is perfectly pleasant, a midtempo pop toe-tapper that's steered safely towards a decent little chorus by the ever reliable Miss Lott. The most interesting thing about it, however, is that the usually scribblesome songbird doesn't test her songwriting fingers here, with the credits bearing the names 'E.Nelson' and 'D.Bedingfield'. Hang on… giving a leg-up to Daniel Bedingfield at the Most Wallet-Testing Time Of The Year? Maybe Pixie's got a bit of the old Christmas cheer in her after all!
