Bananarama: 'Baby It's Christmas'

If you didn't think it was possible for Bananarama to rock a camper take on dance-pop than they did on last year's Viva album, think again! For, together with said LP's producer, Wilde/Minogue/Halliwell alumnus Ian Masterson, Sara and Keren have only gone and recorded a Christmas single!

And a big silver glittery bauble of a Christmas single it is too. Over tinselly synths, four-to-the-floor beats and, oh yes, sleigh bells, the girls pine for the one who got away, coming up with this spot on couplet in the process: "Remember how we kissed that time / The mistletoe and too much wine…" The result could theoretically be a little bit more gay, but only if the girls had managed to persuade Christopher Biggins to add a rap. One in which he name-checked Joan Collins.
