Why? Because, as his latest missile demonstrates, Brunes will be a) utterly devastated by your lack of interest, and b) put those feelings down in rather, ahem, dramatic pop lyrical form. "I'd jump in front of a train for you / But you won't do the same," he laments here over a haunting piano melody and thunderous drum claps reminiscent of Michael Jackson's 'Dirty Diana'. It might sound a bit OTT, but as his oh-so-earnest predecessor showed, Mars has the vocal chops - and quintessential likeability - to carry that off.
