Hercules and Love Affair: 'My House'

This trailer for Hercules and Love Affair's second album doesn't grab you by the lapels like 'Blind', the Antony Hegarty-steered taster for their 2008 debut, but that's not to say it's a dud comeback. Quite the opposite, in fact.

Actually, after three or four spins, it becomes clear that 'My House' is every bit as infectious, elegant and replete with intriguing sonic detail as we've come to expect from Andy Butler's disco collective. A midtempo electro-house pearl that percolates as seductively as a top-of-the-range Italian coffee-maker, topped off by the soulful vocals of Shaun J. Wright, it offers conclusive proof that dance music doesn't have to get all sweaty and stompy to be genuinely life-affirming. Anyone for a bear hug?
