Red Dress is the first single to feature the Sugababes' newest member, Amelle Berrabah. Berrabah was brought in to the studio to re-record parts of the song after previous bandmember Mutya Buena left.

This upbeat, funky track is just wonderfully enjoyable. The main riff of the song takes its sample directly from a classic Northern Soul track, Landslide by Tony Clarke and has such an infectious dancing beat that you'll be bopping in no time.

Taking the familiar theme of "Girl Power" the Sugarbabes sing of how they're "cooler than the red dress" and that a girl uses her sexuality to gain power over men. Still, though they might not be the most insightful lyrics in the world, there's nothing quite like singing along full-voice on a crowded dancefloor to a completely superficial song.

Definitely a great dancing track, the bass thumps in your brain, the beats make it impossible to sit still and the chorus hook gets you after one hearing. Great stuff from the new line up of the Sugababes.
