Far East Movement - 'Rocketeer' ft. Ryan Tedder
Is this the swiftest shift to the middle of the road ever? Having scored an international smash with 'Like A G6', a clubby pop-rap cut powered by a cool beans bassline, Far East Movement are following it up with this, a Bruno Mars co-write that shares more than a smidge of its musical DNA with his B.o.B. hook-up, 'Nothin' On You'.

But, crucially, not too much of the geneticky instructiony stuff. The Smeezingtons' production is as sleek, shiny and chunky as a boxer in a Boss suit, Ryan Tedder breaks out his falsetto for the lovely, hummable chorus, and The Movement bring a bit of personality to proceedings by cheekily referencing their previous hit and rhyming "Super Mario" with "Cardio" and "Geronimo". The result? Not just a swift shift to the middle of the road, but a pretty smooth move that-a-way too.
