So Teenage Life is this year's Eurovision entry. Well we all knew it was that time of year - the time when you turn on the TV to the dulcet tones of Terry Wogan's snide mockery, switch on the subtitles and get ready to laugh at the translation of lyrics such as the superb "my sparrow's foot is so very frozen" and the Moldovian costumes made from tinfoil.

Eurovision is always and always has been about the ridiculous and really, this year's entry doesn't disappoint in those stakes. According to the press release Daz will be the first rapper to represent the UK at Eurovision since Love City Groove over a decade ago.

There are almost no words to explain the wonderful absurdity that is this single. Complete with a choir of teenage girls in the background accompanied by strings and cheesy backbeat, this song has everything that we have come to love (or hate if you want to be like that) about the Eurovision Song Contest. Even Daz rapping about his teenage years has a distinctly Eurovision hint to the flow of the rhythm, which seems more important than the words (a factor always important in the multilingual competition).

Daz himself is half of platinum-selling dance act Uniting Nations, who have already been very successful though most of Europe - which hopefully will result in favourable voting on May 20th. After the embarrassment of recent Eurovisions, the UK isreally hoping to look for a high-ranking entry this time around.

This song is definately a Eurovision classic, and should fit in nicely amongst the traditional Eurovison fare.
