Rebecca Black 'Friday'
For those living in a social media-less bubble, 13-year-old Californian Rebecca Black unleashed her debut single 'Friday' on YouTube last month, where it has since "gone viral" - clocking over 15 million hits and bringing with it a cloud of doubt over the music industry as we collectively asked, 'Is this a genuine attempt at the teen pop market or a perfectly executed piece of social commentary on what's become of music?'

Given her age and origin, we're inclined towards the former, but with vocals processed to Cheestring-like levels, laughably bad lyrics that inform us "tomorrow is Saturday/ And Sunday comes afterwards," and a cameo from a nameless and significantly older rapper, it also works brilliantly as the alternative. After all, likening 'Bieber Fever' to her own 'Black Plague' has got to be a joke, right? Less funny is that after repeated listens it's worryingly catchy - so we're going to rate this one seriously before the infection takes grip.
