The Feeling: 'Set My World On Fire'
Well, previously they wanted you to fill their little world right up, but now they want you to set it on fire. That's right - twisted pyromaniacs The Feeling are back and have gone all crazy with a bizarre new post-dubstep synth-heavy grindcore direction! Okay, maybe not. Perhaps unsurprisingly, Dan Gillespie Sells, Richard Jones (Mr Sophie Ellis-Bextor) and chums have instead returned with a jangly, summery bit of guitar pop. It's the sort of stuff that will get thousands smiling and shuffling their feet, while just as many fling it to the top of the pile marked "indie landfill".

That'd be a teeny bit unfair, though. Sure, this stuff isn't exactly cutting edge. In fact, it sounds like a cross between something a bunch of girls might sing in unison as they jump over fiendishly complicated arrangements of skipping ropes and Keane (before Keane went all twiddly). And the band's BRIT School roots definitely show too much on the Songwriting 101 lyrics, ("Then off you go just like before / I hear you slam the taxi door"), so listening to the words really does sap any emotional weight the song might have - and sap really is the key word here. But hey! The sun's been shining, this is catchy enough in its twangy way, and good on the lads for sticking to what they clearly enjoy despite the prevailing pop headwinds.
