Fizzing with electric guitars, euphoric synths and a booty-shaking hip-hop beat, 'Super Bass' is topped off with a ready-made pop chorus sharper than a Sherbet Dib Dab. "Boy you got my heartbeat running away/ Beating like a drum and it's coming your way," she lilts in her girly, Barbie-doll persona. Sprinkled with her trademark eccentric rapping style and regular mentions of those hefty "boom badooms", little else could be done to lift her to the higher echelons of the chart. Fifth time's a charm, right?
