"Standing at the bar with my friend Olivia/ We were trying our best to catch up," Katy B informs us in a smooth and blasé manner on the opening of her new single. The rhyming might be dodgier than a late-night kebab and the lyrics more straight-talking than Alan Sugar at a boardroom firing, but it's exactly the kind of no-muss style that - now four singles in - has quickly warmed us to Kathleen Brien.
"It's not that easy/ These days can't find a man to please me," she continues over stuttering synths and a wobbly bassline, complaining of blokes' lines that are "too cheesy" and, regardless of their advances, she's got her "own s**t to do" anyway. The result is a cool as a fridge-chilled cucumber dub-pop ditty with a touch of the Lily Allens to it - though judging by her attitude at present, we're best keeping that observation to ourselves.
