Beyoncé: 'Best Thing I Never Had'

"What goes around comes back around," Beyoncé warns on the opening of her latest single. Despite her own beliefs in the laws of karma, when it comes to destiny we're firm believers that one creates their own - and having seen what a show-stopping performance at this year's Glasto can do for your new album in the charts, we have a sneaking suspicion that she may be coming around to our way of thinking.

"So sad, you're hurt/ boo hoo," Bey quips over a twinkly piano riff and beefy bass drums before giving her fella (pre-Jay-Z, we assume) a thorough dressing-down. "Thank God you blew it/ Thank God I dodged a bullet," she growls before a breezy chorus of soaring strings gusts at gale force. "I bet it sucks to be you right now," she concludes - whether it's to an ex-lover or those who questioned her crowd-pulling power, we don't doubt it for a second.
