Calvin Harris: 'Feel So Close'

We're confused. After weeks of spiel that Calvin Harris had put his vocal chords into early retirement, stressing that he is no longer the frontman of his, um, one-man band and he will only work with artists who "sing well", he has taken the curious step of being the sole vocalist on his latest chart botherer. Our guess is he's either got a bad case of amnesia or he's taken an express class in confidence building.

"I feel so close to you right now/ It's a force field," he sing-speaks in a clumsy but infatuated manner over melancholic piano chords, before a breezy, lyric-less chorus of squawking electro sirens and hazy synths bound around like a bucking bronco at a Texas rodeo rave. The result is a wistful yet exhilarating club thumper - and as for those vocals, well, if you want something done right...
