Natalia Kills feat. will.i.am: 'Free'

It's been a mixed-bag sort of year for Natalia Kills; on one hand she has experienced limited success on the continent and supported glitter addict Ke$ha on tour, but on the other she has yet to make a splash on either the UK or US charts with her first two efforts. The question is, does her new single have enough rocket fuel in it to launch her to the top third time out?

With its urban club beats, Euro-friendly synths and impressive guest feature, it certainly ticks many a box on the modern pop song checklist. "Getcha fives, getcha tens, getcha twenties out," she chants on the earworm hook that every chart attempt craves, while the needless cameo from will.i.am and a controversial music video complete the set. In fact, it seems that every element of 'Free' has been meticulously planned; "call me a perfectionist," she sing-speaks in her high-end-meets-urban-swag persona. We can't fault her there, but maybe that's been the problem all along?
