Melanie C: 'Think About It' - Single review

When whispers of a pop comeback for Melanie C first surfaced last year, we'll readily admit that we were intrigued to see what effect becoming a mama and a Spice Girls reunion would have on her new solo material. True to her word, she's promptly readied her fifth studio opus The Sea; and if this trailer is anything to go by, the last four years appear to have had the desired effect.

"If there's a chance we'll break, I want to smash into pieces," Mel professes wistfully over a Cutfather-helmed combination of modish guitar riffs and pulsating house beats, falling somewhere between the bubblegum-pop hooks of Katy Perry and a Kelly Clarkson power anthem. The perfect party choon to round out the summer months, 'Think About It' is not only destined for an extended residency on Euro-friendly dancefloors, but also serves as confirmation that she should take control of the next Spice Girls comeback single - not that we'd want to jinx it or anything.
