Having debuted as a recording artist at 19, Jason Derulo could be accused of following an Adele-like pattern after writing his follow-up record at the age of 21 - and claiming said material is a considerable step-up from his reasonably successful first LP. With the charts now welcoming the return of the organic singer-songwriter, has he equipped himself with his own gut-wrenching ballad for his latest release?
The results indicate he's a fair way off yet. "Much more than a Grammy award/ That's how much you mean to me," he oh-so-kindly suggests over a finger-clicking R&B beat and earworm whistle hook. Sadly it's a dilemma he's unlikely to face anytime soon with this by-numbers offering, where the only surprise is the absence of his name tag on the intro. Don't worry Jase, it looks as though that other post-adolescent warbler is going to clean up on the night anyway.
