Skylar Grey: 'Invisible'
It's rare for an artist to collaborate with hip-hop giants Dr Dre, Eminem and Diddy before they've even released their debut single, but that's exactly how singer-songwriter Skylar Grey cut her teeth before introducing herself to the mainstream music market. With many already familiar with her sultry tones serving as the backdrop to some of today's finest skits, how will the 25-year-old fare on her ownsome lonesome?

Thankfully, 'Invisible' doesn't stray too far away from the epic, emo-friendly chorus we've come to expect from Skylar. "Even when I'm walking on barb wire/ Even when I set myself on fire/ Why do I always feel invisible, invisible?" she asks over a grandiose soundscape of plunging beats and lilting guitars - the result a soaring cross-breed of Dido's melancholy and Avril Lavigne's youthful angst. We don't want to ruffle the feathers of today's rap pack, but we have a sneaking suspicion that Sky's days as a guest vocalist are numbered.
