Nicki Minaj feat. Rihanna: 'Fly' - Single review

This summer marked a momentous occasion in Nicki Minaj land when she finally scored her first solo Top 10 hit with 'Super Bass' - especially given that her debut LP Pink Friday has failed to reach the upper echelons of the charts since its release last year. Question is, can she repeat the trick a second time with her new single 'Fly'?

Firstly, teaming up with chart-hogger Rihanna will no doubt put her in good stead. "I came to win, to fight, to conquer, to thrive," RiRi chants over a feather-light beat and swooping synths more majestic and grandiose than one of Minaj's outlandish ensembles. "I am not fly, I am levitation/ I represent an entire generation," she declares with urban prowess; prompting the response, 'go get that hit, girl!'
