Rihanna ft. Calvin Harris: 'We Found Love' - Single review

Whatever it is that Rihanna's drinking, eating or otherwise consuming, we certainly wouldn't refuse a taster of it. If releasing a new single three weeks after the sixth cut from her ten-month-old album Loud wasn't risking overexposure already, she's also armed with her sixth LP in seven years. If we were in charge of branding her next perfume, we'd infuse it with whatever secret ingredient she's hiding and call it 'Relentless'.

Such is the pace of 'We Found Love'; a club-ready number that, courtesy of Scottish DJ/producer/singer Calvin Harris, also remains a classy affair. While we're inclined to suggest it's down to his previous studio stints with Kylie Minogue and Sophie Ellis-Bextor, RiRi does manage to forgo her boozy and bondage tendencies this time out. "We found love in a hopeless place," she admits wistfully over shimmering synths, before Harris cuts loose on the lyric-less, exhilarating chorus. Overexposed? Maybe in the wardrobe department, but you won't hear us complaining.
