Beyoncé: 'Countdown' - Single review

There's no denying Beyoncé is one of the happiest pregnant women on the planet today. That said, since unveiling her JayBey bump at the MTV VMAs, we're grateful for her swift reassurance that just because she's with child, her career won't grind to a halt. In fact, as we've learnt from her new single 'Countdown', juggling a high-flying career and a family has always been her masterplan.

"We be making love at five/ Still the one I'm going four/ I'm tryna' make us three/ From two/ He's still the one," she avows over a tapping snare-beat and a silky smooth melody courtesy of Boyz II Men's 'Uhh Ahh', while a jamboree of carnival brass hoots with more bounce than her own perfectly-formed derriere. "I'm all up under him like it's cold, winter time/ All up in the kitchen in my heels, dinner time," continues Mrs Z, proving that combining pop-stardom and domesticity is just one of her many, many talents.
