The Saturdays: 'My Heart Takes Over' - Single review

After unleashing their rebellious streaks in hi-NRG summer thumpers 'Notorious' and 'All Fired Up', The Saturdays have promptly eased themselves into the festive period with a calmer pop jam in the form of 'My Heart Takes Over'. Prepping themselves for yet another almighty pop chart battle with One Direction and Westlife, will the girls' lastest cut gain them an 11th (11th!) top ten hit or will they be left quivering in the cold?

While the accompanying music video looks like it left their teeth chattering like windup, 'My Heart' is instead a thoroughly heart-warming experience from the off. "'Cause if you leave, baby then leave/ Make up your mind before you shut the door," Vanessa purrs over stadium-sized acoustics and smoky strings more sweet and comforting than an M&S apple strudel. The end result is strikingly similar; you're suitably filled after but you'd daren't say no to more.
