Kelly Rowland: 'Down For Whatever' - Single review

Despite being the first major breakout star from Destiny's Child, Kelly Rowland hasn't ever quite reached the dizzying heights of her superstar sista. Now, like previously floundering popstars before her, she's bagged herself a spot on the judging panel of one of TV's biggest shows and scheduled some new tunes to coincide. But is her latest effort enough to propel her to the top of the charts?

"Let's explore, see what we find/ I'm waiting for you to discover me," Rowland purrs over familiar club beats and Euro-friendly synths courtesy of RedOne that sound strikingly similar to a certain American Idol judge's output of late. While we're certain the exploring or discovering isn't of the musical variety, it would have been nice for Kelz to have avoided the tried-and-tested generic club-banger route - because when she wants to, she can seriously put it down.
