Flo Rida: Good Feeling
We're confused. Just as the urban-dance division finally appears to start letting up and the new sound of choice for 2012 begins to creep in, one manages to appear seemingly out of nowhere and launches itself into the upper echelons of the chart. Even more mind-boggling is that on this occasion, said song is a solo offering from an artist whose chart success is often determined by whoever sits alongside the 'feat.' tag.

On closer inspection, the inner workings of his latest chart assault are far from surprising. Boasting nine (nine!) songwriters and three producers, the sampling of DJ Avicii's 'Levels' - which in turn reswizzles Etta James's 'Something's Got a Hold On Me' - makes this club-rap number sound about as authentic as Asda's tinned spaghetti. Fingers crossed this is the genre's final gasp for air before it officially flatlines.
