Being dumped by a cheating ex is never a good thing, but as many in the music biz will tell you, it usually makes for a damn good song. It's a piece of advice that couldn't have come at a more crucial time for US R&B-soul singer Lloyd
, because after four unsuccessful albums in the UK, he finally
appears to be having his breakthrough moment with a tribute to his former missus.
"Ain't being funny/ I know another bee's been in that honey," he insists over a peppy, '60s soul-tinged riff that owes a lot to Duffy's 'Mercy', before asking his girlfriend to 'fess up about her late nights at the office. Fortunately, his pals Lil Wayne and Andre 3000 are on hand to cheer him up, the latter of whom brands her a woman who can "bring a man to his knees...without saying please". It all sounds very civilised... until you hear the uncut version.
