Cher Lloyd feat. Astro: 'Want U Back' - Single review

Being at the centre of a hate campaign even before releasing any music is understandably an intimidating experience; so we'd have forgiven Cher Lloyd for trying to win the public's affection with a Holier Than Thou routine. However, it would seem she is not content with compromising her persona for anyone - especially all those haterz - as she proves on her latest single 'Want U Back'.

Truth be told, it's quite refreshing for an artist to embrace their perceived public image. "Please, this ain't even jealousy/ She ain't got a thing on me/ Trying to rock them ugly jeans jeans jeans," she scathes about her ex-bf's new squeeze; trying by failing to remain serene rather than green. A cartoony mix of perky beats and peppy guitar give the song an almost caricature quality, but the joke is really on us. Why? Because it's Cher Lloyd who has the last laugh with another hit on her hands.
